We are not accepting any new submissions at the moment.

Thank you for your interest in Robertson Murray. We receive a great many requests for representation and are only able take on projects we feel absolutely passionate about due to the high level of support we give our authors. Therefore, please ensure you follow the guidelines below to ensure your submission has the best chance possible of standing out.

We are currently taking submissions in the following areas:

Fiction – We welcome both commercial and literary fiction in any genre except science fiction. We are looking for exceptional, inspiring writing and well-crafted storytelling with an exciting hook.

Non-Fiction – We will consider any non-fiction genre including, but not limited to: memoir and biography, personal development, lifestyle/alt lifestyle, cookery, history, current affairs, popular science, sport and humour. You need not be a straightforward writer if: yours is an exceptional or newsworthy story, your project is not text-dependent (ie, image-led), or if you have an established audience.

Genres we do not consider include: academic texts, poetry, or scripts for film, TV or stage. We are also not currently accepting new children’s books unless by exception – however, submissions may open in the future so please check back.

We aim to respond within 8-10 weeks, but please inform us via the submissions page if during that time other agents request further information or writing samples, or if you have an offer of representation. Kindly do not chase for a response, we know you are patiently waiting to hear back. Please note we do not consider submissions sent by post or return any that are.

If we feel your work isn’t right for us, please don’t be discouraged, there will inevitably be another agency who will be right for you, so persevere with your dreams.
